Owsley.Carpenter Richardson, Jr. (AKA O.C. and Teddy to close friends) died December 23, 1994 in San Francisco, CA. He was a lifelong friend from first grade at Kanawha Elementary School through CHS and until he passed away. At CHS, Teddy was a member of the CHS Band, among other activities. While at King College for his undergraduate studies, he was drafted for service in the Vietnam War and served in Vietnam as a medical corpsman. After his discharge, he returned to his studies and completed all course requirements for his Doctorate in History at The University of Tennessee. He settled in San Francisco and returned to a career in the healthcare field. I think of him much, remembering his intellectual curiosity, wry humor, insight, and steadfastness as a close friend.
