After graduating from UNC Charlotte I began a 40-year career in commercial property-casualty insurance in Charlotte from 1977-2017. Married to Debby in December 1981, recently celebrated our 41st anniversary. We both retired early in 2017, sold the house we’d lived in for almost 30 years, and moved to our beach house at the Outer Banks, less than a mile from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. We also bought a sailboat to fulfill a longtime dream of sailing to the Caribbean and living aboard during winter/spring. We did that in the Bahamas in 2019. Since returning to NC our cruising has been interrupted by Hurricane Dorian and Covid travel restrictions, but we are going back this winter.
We enjoy the beach, sailing and travel, and our daughter and granddaughter, who live on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
