Harrison "Hassie" Blythe

Harrison Anne "Hassie" Blythe, 46, of Charlotte, NC, died on Monday, October 7, 2002, at her residence. Hassie was born on May 4, 1956, in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Martha Harrison Blythe and Joseph L. Blythe, Jr.
She was a graduate of Myers Park High School and Lenoir Rhyne College, where she earned a degree in International Studies. Hassie was a warm and fun loving sister to her family. She was the life of every family get together and enjoyed giving outlandish and unusual gifts to family and friends. Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, tennis, reading, horseback riding and cooking. Hassie had a special love for her nieces and nephews, and also for animals and pets - her "critters." Her laughter and pranks will be missed by her entire family and many friends.
Hassie is survived by her sister, Ellen B. Archer, and her husband Richard, of Huntersville, NC; her brothers, Joseph L. Blythe, III., of Salisbury, NC, and Thomas Rock Blythe, and his wife Judy, of Monroe, NC; two nieces, Katie Archer and Pauleen Young; and four nephews, Reid Archer, Jamie Griffin, Joseph Blythe, IV, and Warren Blythe. Hassie was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Harrison Blythe and Joseph L. Blythe, Jr.
A celebration of Hassie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2002, at Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC, with the Reverend Reggie Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will be private for the family.
