Carrie Venable

Carrie "Deloris" Butler Venable, 66 of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Novant Health-Main.  She was born January 15, 1955, to the late Harry Lee Butler and Ruthell Clinton in Orangeburg, SC.  Her parents raised her in Charlotte, NC along with her beloved siblings, Neomnie Sanders, Katie Butler, Harry Butler Jr., Tyrone Butler, Kemmerlin Butler, George Butler, and Cornell Butler.  Carrie graduated from Myers Park High School in 1973.  In 1987 she married George Hamiton Venable Jr.  They gave birth to two wonderful children George Hamilton Venable III (Trey) and Arah Deloris Venable.  Carrie was modest, gentle, and humble woman.  She loved and cared for her family with all her heart and encouraged those with whom she came in contact.

Carrie was a cherished mother, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend to many.  She was a longtime member at South End Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC.  Carrie was very involved in her church and enjoyed serving her community.  She served as a deacon and later was ordained as an Elder and served as the evangelism committee's moderator.  Carrie loved to worship and fellowship with her church family.

She was a strong woman with a gentle soul who valued the simple things in life and didn't take them for granted.  When our family faced hardships she always reminded her household to count their blessings.  No matter what life threw at her she handled it with grace and humility.  She remained hopeful and every situation because her faith was rooted in Christ Jesus.

Carrie leaves to be cherished a legacy of love, faith, and family.  She is survived by her son, George Venable III; her daughter, Arah Venabe; her daughter in love, Jessica Venable; her granddaughter, Haley Garrison; her sister, Neomnie Sanders; her brothers, Harry Butler Jr., Tyrone Butler, Kemmerlin Butler, George Butler, and Cornell Butler.  She is preceded in death by her sister, Katie Butler and her parents.
