Sean Edward Carmichael, age 61 of Smyrna, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 22, 2019. A native of Kentucky, Sean was a long time resident of Cobb County. He was employed by a local college as Registrar before retiring and had been a long time guitarist in the Raleigh, NC based rock band Cirkus. Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years Wally Carmichael, daughters Erin (Scott) Wagoner of Marietta, Ryan Carmichael of Atlanta, sister Leslie Keys of Smyrna, brother Joe Peel of Albuquerque, NM, and granddaughters Isla and Clara Wagoner. The Celebration of Life will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Carmichael Funeral Home, located at 2950 King Street, Smyrna, GA 30080. There will be an open mic to share memories after the family speaks in his honor. Donations are suggested to VH1 Save the Music Foundation or Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation in lieu of flowers.
