Amelia Collins Price

Life has been interesting and fun. There was a successful career in corporate America as a marketing manager and director in the architectural and engineering business sector. I worked with very smart people and my work included public involvement in the planning and design of major transportation projects for federal and state government. I have lived in many places: Chapel Hill, NC, following graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill; Memphis, TN; Charlotte, NC, Miami, FL, Dayton, OH, and now back to Raleigh, NC, in the suburb of Cary, NC. Lastly, I am a pet mom. I have been very fortunate.

Oklahoma!, our school play in our junior year was so much fun. I made the curtain that was dyed bed sheets. A classmate got Charlotte Memorial Hospital to donate the old bed linens. We dyed them in my washing machine, dried them, and stitched them on my antique Singer sewing machine. We spread out the finished curtain in my backyard to make the final measurements. The curtain was tacked onto the existing red velvet curtain in the auditorium using safety pins. There must be pictures of that curtain somewhere in the MPHS archives for year 1973.
