Stephen Carl Grimes Obituary

Waynesville—Stephen Carl Grimes, age 47, of Ford Road, died Friday, March 29, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle/car accident. He was a United States Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was the son of the late Carl Eugene and Helena Tiego Grimes. He is survived his wife, Tonya Michelle Grimes; three sons, Michael Shane Grimes, Carl Eugene Grimes, of Hazelwood and Joshua Kyle Grimes, and his godparents, Jamie and Paul, all of Charlotte; brother, Brent Bacot; Best friends, Walter Robert Houk, of Woodstock, Illinois and Cyndi, Ronald and Shaun Rossi Collins, of Waynesville; Mother and Father-in-law, Carol and Andy Backland, of Sanford, NC; Grandmother-in-law, Eloise Thomas, of Charlotte. Thoughts and prayers were shared at the morning worship service at New Covenant Church, Sunday, March 31, 2002. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
