Richard David Harper Obituary

On Friday Aug 6th 2021, Richard David Harper passed away at the age of 64. Richard was born in Charlotte, NC to John T. and Marth H. Harper. He graduated from Myers Park High School and worked at the Silver Dollar Saloon where he met many lifelong friends that he considered family. He then went on to work for FedEx where he retired after many years. He also worked for Tinder Box where he found his passion for fine cigars. Richard had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved to work and all the people he met along the way. When he wasn't working he enjoyed spending time on the golf course and fishing with friends, sharing his knowledge about cigars and debating politics. He always loved a good conversation with friends and neighbors. But most of all he loved spending time at home with his dog. Richard is preceded in death by his father John, mother Martha, sister Martha "Jean", brother John "Bubba". He is Survived by his nephew Kenneth "Jason" (wife Melinda, son Eian) and his beloved dog Sammy as well as many lifelong friends. In lieu of a public funeral the family is having a private ceremony of life and asks that in memory of Richard to make a donation in his honor to the charity of your choice.
