David Herndon Harris, 68, of Charlottesville, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016, with his loving daughter, Laura Elizabeth Harris by his side.

He was the son of the late Victoria Elizabeth and Harry Houser Harris.

He was a firefighter for the city of Charlottesville for 23 years.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Park St. in Charlottesville on Friday, October 28, 2016,at 4 p.m. A gathering of friendship will be held immediately following in the fellowship hall. Chaplin Greg Compton of hospice will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the HOWS Project which helps to provide shelter for outside dogs, P.O. Box 56, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
