IN MEMORY

Steve Steele

Steve Steele

"I shall not live until I see God; and when I have seen Him, I shall never die." (John Donne) the Rev. Steven Louis (Arthur Feaser) Steele left this world on Friday, July 8, 2005, to carry on his eternal mission.

He was born Dec. 1, 1948, in Elma, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Steele.

He is survived by a family who loves him dearly.  Beloved husband of Joy (Vance) Steele.  Adored son of Miriam Camp Green.  Loving father of sons, Louis, Joshua and Peter Steele. Dear friend, partner-in-crime and brother to Bobby, Sharon, Meg, Mary and Lorry.  Godfather to Matthew.  Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Loving relative and friend to in-laws and countless others who were privileged to be a part of Steven’s family and his life, including his Roger Mexico posse and groupies.

Steven was the Vicar of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Vernon, N.J., for 18 years. Yet another community of people who forever will be touched by his work. Steven was ordained an Episcopal priest after graduating with his Master’s from Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, Va.

Although Steven left this world far too early, many of us are breathless with the love, faith, and laughter that he received and gave so freely ... "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away." (Charles Buxton)

God's Speed, Steven.  We adore you and our lives will be forever changed without you.

We should all be so fortunate to touch lives as Steve did and have a loving family that we will see again in heaven. Steve knew the Way and told many others the Way.
