Since 1970, let's see, I spent 12 years in college deciding I didn't know what I wanted to do when I grow up. During that 12 years I started a 25 year careet in transportation first with Trailways, then with the merged Trailways/Greyhound Corporation. While at Greyhound I arranged transport for the 1988 and 1992 Presidential campaigns in the Charlotte, N.C. region. I spent differing terms of service for Greyhound in Charlotte, Columbia, S.C., Atlanta, Ga., Charleston, S.C. Richmond, Va., and Washington, D.C. I left Greyhound when I was told I was being transferred to Dallas, Tex. I hate Dallas, and I had two very ill parents that could not move and had no serious means of support.
Since leaving Greyhound I have spent the last 15 years in restaurant management in the Charlottesville area first at College Inn on the Corner, and currently at Tip Top Restaurant on Pan Tops Mountain.
I have stood in the ancient Athenian Agora where St. Paul, Aristotle, and Plato taught, and walked the street of Thessaloniki, home of Alexander the Great, and Attaturk the founder of modern Turkey.
I have survived Synovial Cell Sarcoma and a heart attack.
How much more can you cram into one life time? I don't know but I keep trying.
