I am now back in school earning my PhD in Dance Medicine and Science from Wolverhampton University in the UK. (A distance program which is research-based). My focus is the aging dancer (aka, myself) and spinal range of motion - how the spine ages and how that affects range of motion. It's interesting and depressing all at the same time! Currently, there are no baselines for dancers' spines and range of motion, so we don't know what's normal or what to expect as dancers age. Really boring, I know!!!
I am an active member of the International Dance Medicine and Science Association (IADMS), am on their Education committee and also part of the peer review board.
I am also on the University of the Arts Alumni Council as the Chair of the Admissions Committee.
Aside from these things and teaching at Eastern, I absolutely am devoted to my two sons, Noah (drumline, Methacton HS) and Nate (Tae Kwon Do, blackbelt, also plays tuba) and my hubby, David (we met at U Arts), who also works at Eastern as the Associate Chair of Music.
We have two children that we sponsor through Child Fund International and are active in two area churches.
