I met Jan Zarkin first day of the "TKE Pledge Meeting" when we were invited to pledge. He was from Harrisburg,Pa. There was something about him,I recall, a devil may care attitude, (Definitely not into the military and rules, more a Folk Singer). He had a way to lighten up any situation with humor,(One liners mostly). We became friends.

Years later I'm in Philly on business and I contact Frank Pellegrini TKE. (wanting to say Hi to him and Maureen). I drove to his office, got a cooks tour of Frank's CPA office and a walk through his Racing Facility, (Very impressive).

"Let's go see Zippy", I say.  Frank sets it up and we go to Jan's restaurant. We had a great meal, laughed and told stories. You could tell his restaurant was thriving.

One story that I learned that night was that Zip and Joe Carter TKE,65 were room-mates in Philly during their single years. More stories. More Laughs. More Libation.

Years later I get a call from Frank telling me about his "ALS" and that Joe, Zip and he went to a watering hole in the area. ,(While he still could walk). Cool.

I got to see him and his wife at the 50th reunion. Still Joking. (But now through typing on his hand held computer). He died a liitle while after that. I was happy that he made the 50th reunion.

One regret and now embarrassing moment...He invited me to visit him at his home (When the ALS was progressing). Couldn't make it. Clark Wonderland TKE did. I was glad of that.

Bob is too polite to tell you that Zips' favorite watering hole was his favorite strip joint.  I'm not telling tales out of school, because he would take his wife to the joint.
​That reminded me (nothing to do with PMC).  When my son graduated from college, they announced those who were receiving their Doctorates first, and the announced what there Doctoral thesis was about.  This one guy got his Doctorate and the title of his thesis was "The Physiological and phycological effects of Exotic Dancing".  This guy got his Doctorate by sitting in stip joints.  Is this a great country or what?
