The Ethics of Government Act of 1978

The Independent Counsel was created to make sure the Executive branch followed the Law. It has taken on a political purpose that has far outweight the intent of the act. There are always going to be people in government who are there to get what the can get; be it power, money or both. Look at all the long term elected officials who have become rich. Everyone knows it is wrong but can't do anything about it. Why? because when you try to correct the problem the politicos use scandal and misinformation to protect themselves.

This tactic of Scandal, (ie,.fighting to keep the Congress powerful and the staus quo of "me first" in tact) has created a full blown crisis in America. Attacking with scandal provides a way for defenders of the status quo to undermine the legitimacy of those who we elect and deluting the power of the electorate.

For 200 years the US has existed without Independent Counsels, using the Constitution and the concept of separation of powers to defends their instiutional interests and differences of opinion. Now, its not about what is good for the country, its about administrative rules. Congress does not spend its day creating laws any more, they hold hearing to use the legal system to attack.

We see today in the 2 year Mueller investigation and its legal hearing after the fact yet another attempt to destroy an anti-establishment President. The media has made "Scandal Tactics" acceptable.

Bobbie!  I applaud your efforts to get ALL classmates involved with the site and involved with life around us.  This is OUR site.  The class of '66 and the friends WE invite in are the only people who can see what we are talking about.  Unlike "Social Media" this site is for US  We are classmates having a shared experience, shared friendships and, as far as I'm concerned TRUST and OPENESS with each other.  This is an OPEN forum for only us.

Bob, is opening up issues that we are all experiencing and we are all exposed to in iur daily lives and in our FAMILIES daily lives.  We don't all have the same opinions or views on these issues.  Let's share them with TRUST and OPENESS, confident that there will only be civility and respect.  These issues stir up strong emotions I'm sure, and they are EXTREMELY important to our future as individuals, as families, as a country, as a world.

Thank you Brother Bob
