Chic Goebel..An American Hero.

Chic and I are (were) friends, yet I never knew about this story. He never brought it up. I only learned about it from a newspaper ulogy of his death.

It should be told;since he wasn't a member of the PMC CADET CORP, Class of 1966. He was a civilian.
In the way of background information. Chic was VP OF THE CLASS OF 1966, CAPTAIN OF THE PMC CADET FOOTBALL TEAM.(ALL MAC FOOTBALL). THETA CHI. He was leader.

Fast forward to Infantry OCS,Now a 2Lt infantry stationed in Viet Nam during the TET offensive. He distinguished himself as an infantry officer receiving the Bronze Star. A leader. Great Job
