Yearbook
11/66 to 11/69 - First 2 years in Army as Transportation Plans Officer for the Eighth Army Support Command. Served the last year as XO of the 25 Transportation Movement Control Center which committed 400 rail cars, a truck Bn., 400 commercial contract trucks and a cargo helicopter company on a daily basis . We had 18 field offices and a total Bn. strength of 135 soldiers and 135 South Korean civilian employees. This unit provided transportation support for US Forces Korea.
2 years Syracuse University for MBA. Business/Accounting. 1/70 to 1/72.
7 years US Civil Aeronautics Board as Payroll and Financial Information Systems Designer /Implementation Team leader, and later on a 3 person Agency Budget Team. Each year we worked with the Agency Director and department heads and formulated the Civil Aeronautics Board Budget - first to be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for Presidential Approval (September thru November) - then on to the House and Senate Budget Sub Committee staffs (January through March) . The budget went through a lot of changes as the Presidential staff and Congressional staff directed what they expected our agency to accomplish during the budget year we were requesting funding for.
14 years with Bath, NY, VA Medical Center as a Food Service Supervisor.
18 years with N Y Army National Guard as a: Motor Officer and then S4 in Infantry Bn., Asst. S-4 in Armor Brigade., S2/3 for a Forward Support Bn., Assistant G-4 42d Infantry Division (Mech.), Forward Support Bn. Commander supporting a Armor Bde. (2 tank /1 Mech.). Served the first 30 days at 9/11 in NYC commanding all direct military logistical support to 9/11 "pile" site.
Retired from all in September of 2004 at age 60.
Notorious.
In 2014 We bought 5 acres near Punta Gorda, Florida, planting tropical trees on it. Put up a 20x40 pole barn and am in the process of building a cabin in part of it. Poured the 22x22 pad for the cabin in March 2018. Will have the concrete block walls put up in November of 2018. The southern CP is manned off and on in the January to March time period when we are not at the military campground in Key West. Recognized the reality of becoming a senior citizen in 2019 upon reaching 75 and sold the Florida land and our Victorian house in the country on 5 acres near Bath NY. Moved to a smaller house in the village of Painted Post, NY. Now Patricia and I have cut back to a few weeks on the beach each year under a palm tree in the Florida Keys during February. Thinking about Cuba as an alternate if the Military Base at Key West gets too hard to book days at during February.
