Jan passed away on 1 December from complications of ALS.  He served in the Army in Texas, then worked for many years at Philadelphia Electric as a systems analyst before retiring and putting together a group to buy a taproom in Fairmont, Philadelphia.  They turned it into a restaurant called "Rembrandt"s.  Jan subsequently bought his partners out and ran the restaurant for 25 Years.

Jan is burried in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.

Rest In Peace, you will always be missed!  Classmates met last Thursday, we all raised a glass for those who have gone before us.

Your quick wit will always be in the forefront of my memories, as the Irish say " I will see you on the other side!"

Here is a Zippy story...Now I'm from Yonkers NY and I started my Musicial journey with Elvis....Zip,on the other hand, was a flower child... before Haight Ashbury. From Harrisburg, he carried his guitar everywhere.  Jan always ended up in our room (Eddie Gambon,Room-mate) laying on the bed strumming away. He was pretty good and had a great voice. He sang so many "Peter,Paul and Mary" song that we sang along and became fans of the "Folk Song Era).
