Jim and Charles and yes we (not all) were not understanding or anything that we even attempted that understanding. As you have found out from the past, near present, it is just the way it was- was it right HELL NO,we had no clue back then we were to trying to "fit in"or trying to by expectations,it is just up to the people we love and respect, the ones that made/make a difference. That is who that matters- that is what matters today. Different back then was "different". Some of us were lucky and we learned from it and do understand why the people climate is the way it is today, we we agree sometimes and if we do not, thanks is ok to- when common sense seems not to be the norm right now. Ok I type for crap! Surprise

I am sory Brian i have no tolerince for pour typers and spelers. We just wont b able to get along.

As for fitting in, I spent most of my waking moments trying to fit in. I lost some good friends over bad sometimes, peer pressure was really tough on me. Like I said in an earlier post, there are two people that I know I need to say I am sorry to. They may have grown beyond it and forgotten.I have grown but not forgotten my mistake.

For those of you who have a facebook account be careful about videos that are in your inbox or have a link. There are several viruses circulating in these videos. They will come from names you trust and would open up. I got one from one local friend and was warned by her that it had a virus and she did not send it. I have also gotten a video from Chris Beale and I do not think he sent it either.

Hey Everyone! It looks like the fruits of Kim, Maynard, Eric, Chaz and Brian are beginning to pay off! There's been quite a few "missing classmates" that have registered lately! Be sure to welcome them!

Karen thanks for the thanks, but this is one of those great intentions on my part and no follow through. I have not done a lick on trying to locate people, spent the majority of time trying to locate a job. All credit goes to Kim and her crew.

But I would like to sign up for WalMart Greeter at the reunion - that is just my Cup of Tea!! Anyway, Pat glad you got to visit Richmond and I have enjoyed your book! Did you know there is a singles website called GoFish or something like that? Thought that was cute considering your book! And Kim, I forgot to mention in the e-mail I sent you that I hope your mom is better. Just saw that today. See ya everyone! Muffin

Hello,

To add on to what Muffin said:

I would also like to help in any way possible with the reunion/day of the reunion.

I will be coming into to town a few days before the reunion so will be happy to run errands and do what I can to help. Please let me know.

Hi Muffin!--Glad you are enjoying my book! I just got some exciting news! My publisher said they have a U.S and European distributor who is very interested in my book! Whoo Hoo!

See you all in a few months!

Muffin.... what do you mean when you said: "Sorry but I got really confused with those emails about going to some technical site and linking with whoosee whatsee! "

Were there e-mails sent out from this site that confused people? I HOPE NOT!! That might explain why only 15 people have purchased their reunion tickets as of today.

I starting to FREAK!! I gotta pay for this stuff or we are going to loose it all!!

(just a subtle hint there, folks!)

K.

Well said, Brian. The more I get in touch with class mates the more pleased I am with the way we have all changed. I still take a walk down shitty memory lane once in a while to remind myself how good my life is now. All the joy I am experiencing now has made the past seem like a speed bump. I don't think I can over emphasize how much this reunion means to me. It will be the destruction of a great wall. Actually for me it will be more of a union than a reunion. It's all good. You are right. Tomorrow will always be better.

Hi Karen - Oh, No! I didn't mean the website - this has to do with me being UNtechnical - I mean, really, I said at one point that I would help and then I got some e-mails about someone's master list to hook up with - anyway, it had nothing to do with your website or other e-mails - sorry for that!!!! I am just lame - so that is why I signed up to be WAL Mart greeter - along with Tricia if she'll join me! :>) Muffin

Kim you do yourself and major injustice! Give me a hammer or miter box and I can run circles. Thank goodness for spell and grammar check. I was spoiled for years nothing I sent out did not get proofed by a great sales and admin person. She kept me from reading like a fool. Looks she could do nothing about.

I remember Graduation weekend at Va Beach .... Michael Jackson was singing "I wanna rock with you (all night), rock you in to day (sunlight)...." I must have danced a dozen times to that song on some dance floor on the boardwalk with my man, Eric.... (or was it all a dream?)

R.I.P Michael. You contributed greatly to my memories of the early 70's and 80's, and you always "Thrilled" me!

Hey Karen, that’s just how I remember it…good times, great memories.

I’m looking forward to September. I gotta tell you though; I think we will all be dancing with DeOrio.

I noticed 60 people have signed up to coming to the reunion! Whoo Hoo!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone responsible for the planning of the reunion; getting the word out and making sure people feel welcomed!

Y'all are doing a fantastic job!

Hugs,
Tricia

Hey Eric. I'm counting on dancing with everyone too. I got the song picked out. My Jackson memory goes all the way back to ABC-123. My aunt and uncle owned the Clover Hill store. It was on route 360 right across from where Clover Hill High School was under construction. Back then they were the only "convenience store" between Genito Road and Amelia. They had a pool table and a jukebox. They also had the first microwave oven I ever saw. They had a couple of dining booths also. I remember going there and eating microwave hamburgers and playing ABC-123 on the jukebox. Back then you could get three songs for a quarter. Holy crap I'm feeling old.

Let's not forget Farrah too. :(

My daughter watch Thriller a dozen times and said she wished she'd have known how talented he was. His talent was overshadowed by the personna by the time she even knew who he was.

OH, but you can bet she can sing along with Freddie Mercury!

Talk about memories, Senior beach week, mmmmmmmmm, there are pictures and I hope I have them all. But really - great memories of people, jumping into a swimming pool from the second floor balcony, the house down at Fort Story and waking up on the Beach to the trash collector truck at the butt crack of dawn- I thought it was funny -she did not, my bed was occupied by another couple (Thanks Bill). Good gracious, Micheal Jackson, my 12 year old has Thriller on her mobile phone (phone was her Mom's idea). Looking forward to seeing everyone and watching Mark and his Bride bust a move.

It has been suggested that we decide on the ATTIRE (aka Dress Code) for the Friday Nite Main Event.

There will be a Saturday Afternoon Park Event, which will obviously be sports/beach attire.

Saturday Nite could be cocktail attire, or not. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I'll put up a poll regarding the attire for Friday nite so we can see how everyone's voting.

I think we should leave the dress code back at high school. We all know how to dress tastefully. Even me.

07/01/09 09:09 PM #294

Peter Halle

Dress attire guidance is essential. Some attendees might not have seen friends for thirty years and it is not fair to anyone to immediately place someone in a position of discomfort based on attire.

I have hundreds of ties - anyone need one?

What about a theme from 1979? something fun?

Just a suggestion.

IF not a theme than cocktail...just my two cents.

Hey Peter,
What's a tie? I guess I will need to borrow one.
