Gloria Lee Christ Mindel

I attended the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana where I received a B.A. in 1977. I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have been a Director of Social Services at a long-term care facility in Texas while Charlie taught at Univ of Texas at Arlington. We have two daughters Elizabeth and Allison. Elizabeth graduated from Carleton College and the University of Minnesota. She and her husband, Jamel Ostwald, a professor at Eastern Connecticut State University, live in Willimantic CT. Elizabeth is a software engineer. Allison graduated from Beloit College and the Indiana University. She and her husband, Matthew DeGroot, live in Worcester, Vermont. They have three children, Tovi, Townes, and Lei. Allison is Major Gifts Officer for Vermont Food Bank, Matthew is a nonprofit management consultant. Charlie and I retired to Vermont in 2005. We live in Middlesex Vt. a town of 1,000.
Our home includes ten acres of woods, meadows, great views of mountains, and lots of wildlife. Besides enjoying these things we like to travel. We have been to all seven continents, yes that includes Antarctica and approximately 70 countries.

Swim class at 8AM as a freshman was a real treat.
