Eugene Anderson

Gene grew up in a brown brick two-flat in NW Jefferson Park. After graduating from Schurz, he earned a UIC certificate in Business Management (Wright), and in 1960, started his locksmith business. Gradually, the business expanded to include contract hardware doors and frames. Now, Anderson Lock Company (Des Plaines and Elk Grove Village) is one of the largest companies of its kind in Chicago.
In 1969, while skiing in Boyne MI, I met the love of my life. 1971, he married his wife, Teresa. She taught 2nd grade at Greenbrier school in Arlington Heights.
We raised our family in Kildeer Il. We have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Presently, his daughter Cortney is successfully running Anderson Lock company with her husband Devin as the VP, in charge of the Door Division in Elk Grove.
Gene and his family have enjoyed boating, swimming, golf and hiking at their summer home on Whitewater Lake, and he has enjoyed golfing paradises in Lake Geneva, Naples, FL, and now in Arizona. Current interests and activities: “Golf until prostate cancer got me in 2014. Now we’re concentrating on cruising.” They spent 80 days in Asia and Australia in 2017, and just returned from 80 days to South America and the Antarctic. WE have a Africa voyage planned for fall 2020.
