After graduation I completed my BA at Northwestern University and then traveled for 3 months in South America. I became fascinated with geology, changed my path from law school to geology graduate school, and have loved every minute of my work since that decision. I went to Oxford University after my PhD as a researcher, and then was offered a permanent job at Manchester. I settled in England, have a lovely English wife and two fantastic kids. I've traveled all over the world for my science, and have a long-standing collaboration with friends at Stanford University. I've just retired but keep active in several research projects. There are a million things I still want to do.

Sophomore chemistry class was the key thing from Lane that shaped my life. It gave me such a solid background for everything that came after. The drafting skills have also come in handy.
I still have nightmares about forgetting my locker combination. Really.
