Talk about politically incorrect teachers... what about Montelone (not the print shop teacher), the Modern World History teacher. He made Catherine the Great really come to life with some of his imaginative and vivid stories. And his laugh was pretty unnerving. My favorite teacher was Mr. Sims in Linotype class. Spent many hours in there doing whatever!

Ken, yes Hero's is still there!  It's still one of my favorite places to eat.

Ken Ortiz, I was also in Mr. Wanzung's freshman bio class, as well as Mrs. Shaw's division. I went on to take Wanzung's AP bio class senior year, and had Pete Batsakis as a classmate. Wasn't he also in Mrs. Shaw's division?

And by the way, going back to the 1974 songlist, how could you leave out that tearjerker 'Seasons in the Sun' by Terry Jacks?

Division 692 is in the house!  (what's with all the crossed arms?)  Pretty cool but 657 is still the best in my biased opinion!

Michelle,

Wow! That division 692 picture is so cool! I don't have my yearbooks anymore and that's such a bummer. But now that I see this picture, some more names of my division come to mind.

Ken,

The good news is, when you come to the reunion, we'll have extra yearbooks onhand that you can purchase. Michelle, being the awesome fearless leader she is, has obtained some old copies from the Alumni Association so you'll be able to get one for your collection.

June,

I too was in Mr. Wanzung's AP Bio class. My most vivid memory of that class was how, pretty much every day, Pete Batsakas would say, Mr. Wanzung, I have a question. And Wanzung would say, "Yes Pete". And every time he would say, "Mr. Wanzung, what is life?" And Wanzung would laugh every single time.  Our teachers really were awesome to put up with us.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion and sharing more stories.

June... did you change divisions?  I remember sitting next to you and I was in Mrs. Slaughter's division, 668, I think.  She was Miss Johnson our freshman year, then got married.

I do remember having Mrs. Shaw for sophomore English.  Freshman: Mrs. Urbaszewski, Dophomore: Mrs. Shaw, Junior: Mr. Mims (a GREAT year in English!  Read lots of unusual books).  Senior English: I forget his name.  Large guy.  Real pale skin.  Used to work summers selling balloons on the beach.  Sponsored a student trip every year until, a few years after our graduation, he was convicted of embezzeling money from the trip fund for his life partner.

Division 668!

Robert, I think you are referring to Mr. Gleason.

It's interesting to see how few girls are in these photos.  I know there were only 2 of us in my division.

So a few people still have their yearbooks, how many have their senior pins?

June K Hori (Yamasaki)

Bob, yes I was in your division freshman year, then got transferred to Mrs. Shaw's, after which I again got changed, to Mrs. Brown's for the last two years. I think I got to experience all three lunch periods!

Ken, if you look at the sophomore yearbook division photo, I am sitting right next to you!

We're thinking a stop here after the school tour might be a good idea!

June, I remember you from Mrs. Brown's division (666). It's funny how I never had classes with most of the kids in my division (except for girls gym). I'm getting excited about the reunion! I have gone through some of the yearbooks and other photos that I have, trying to jog my memory. Reading all these stories helps too. My favorite teacher from Lane was Mr. John Desmond (Spanish). I remember if you were talking while he was teaching an eraser would come flying your way. I also remember Mario Barrera would bring homemade guacamole to share with the class. I also had Mr. Gleason for English. He would always say "Heaven must be pretty nice, cause no one's ever come back to tell us about it." Don't know what that had to do with English but he was a character. I was surprised to see him on the news about him stealing the money from the class trip. I almost went on our class trip to Hawaii with him. Instead I went two years later with classmate Debbie Tono. Debbie still looks the same as she did in high school. I'm so jealous!

Janet,

Tell Debbie to come to the reunion. She was always such a happy person. In fact, tell everyone you know!

Thanks Janet!  At long last... the elusive June Hori division. It figures it was number 666!

Andrea, I sent Debbie the link awhile ago, but will do my best to get her here. I want to see her too! She still has the same funny laugh, makes me smile every time. And thanks Michelle for putting up my division picture. Had so much fun with those people. LOVE your idea about going to Heroes after the tour.  I had just said to my husband that we should do that, so when I saw your post I laughed out loud! Great minds think alike!

Haha! Yes there I am, the elusive 'division floater' ! Thanks for posting this pic, Michelle!

Andrea, thank you for that info. I will definitely want a 1976 yearbook.

Also, I do recall some folks here, like June, Scott, Atushi, Timmy and some others. I am really looking forward to the reunion.

My senior pin was #711, but I don't have it anymore. I do have other goodies I will bring to the reunion. (my secret)

Michelle, thanks for the Heros pic. I recall that still being there.

Here are a couple of old Graduation photos I still have:

Uh... would it look something like this?  surprise

It'seems so cool to see these old pictures. I was in Division 666 and that is me standing next to Mrs Brown and Janet Peterson in the picture. I had Mr Wanzung for freshman biology and Mr Simon for electric shop. I also had Mr Penfield for English junior year. This string of messages and pictures bring back a lot of memories. Hello to Ken Ortiz and Janet and June (did not realize you were such a division floater) and others, it's been a long time. Hope you're all well.
