Who's ready for a meet up at Unforgettable Bar?  Whether you're interested in the hat thing or not, it would still be fun to have a group of Bicentennials get together for a couple beers and laughs while our Retirement-Social Security celebration is still a comfortable distance away.

7:00 this Friday!

Define "comfortable distance!"

Okay, okay Bob... maybe it's the light at the end of the tunnel which is really a freight train barreling towards us at top speed.

I''ll be in next week for a wedding. Dang! Any word on Sloan Park in Mesa for Spring Training 2023?

Michelle Milkovic (Weiner)

Bummer Milan!  So close. Let us know if you're out and about next week.  Maybe some of us can meet up with you.

As for Sloan and Wrigley... they demand a sizable deposit way in advance of the event, so between the outlay of thousands with the still somewhat wobbly public health situation, and folks being budget sensitive, we're looking for other opportunities.  Maybe a trip to Iowa to see the Field of Dreams???

Hey... y'all plan a trip down to Indy to watch the Indianapolis take on the Iowa Cubs! Victory Field here is consistently voted the BEST ballpark in the minor leagues.

Did everyone see that last night was the night six years ago that the Cubs won their first World Series in 108 years? Did you watch the replay of the game on CATV.?  CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!!

My wife was in a restaurant in Nairobi at that time. I was on the phone with her calling the end of the game.  I'm shouting, "CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!!"  She's shouting, "CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!!" The rest of the restaurant in Nairobi is wondering, "Baby lions?"

It was so nice to see Lane people in real life!  We collected 87 nice, new hats to keep all those little Lane brains warm this winter and those gals from '77 had a near total lock on the raffle.  Good for them! If anybody's interested in a little more Lane company for an hour or so, we have a virtual tour coming up this Monday at 7PM.  Still 20 Zoom windows available, and Cole... I'm counting on some editorial comments from you in the chat!  Should be fun.

Hey everybody, some folks from the Class of '74 are starting plans for their 50th reunion and they have a hard road ahead with a super small list to start from, so they asked that I reach out to our class.  If you have any friends or siblings who were '74 please direct them to

This is a tough one.

George, I am so sorry!

We were just emailing a couple weeks ago and he seemed fine.

Donald M. Adams, age 64, of McHenry passed away on December 7, 2022 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL.

Donald was born on August 13, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Herbert and Roberta Adams. He was a proud Lane Technical HS graduate - Class of 1976, which is where he met his best friends George Chang and Ean Alexander. He held a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University. He married his beloved wife Lenise Jakubowicz on September 17, 1983 in Chicago.

Don was a loving husband, dedicated and loving father and grandfather enjoying spending time with his kids and grandkids Don’s family came first.

He was a devoted employee of Plitek LLC. for many years, but in his free time he enjoyed building model airplanes, catching air shows, watching the kids and grandkids at their games, and fixing anything mechanical. The family motto is “If Dad can’t fix it - throw it away” He was an avid baseball fan and coach. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his wife of 39 years Lenise; his four children: Kara (Blake) Gossage, Cameron, Collin and Kasey Adams; his grandchildren Braelynn and Kinsley Gossage; his sister: Barbara (Steve) Levin as well as his niece and nephew: Aron (Bill) Cox, David Levin and great-niece Zoe Levin. Loving Brother-in-Law and Uncle to the Banas, Jakubowicz, Garcia, and Drwila families.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Roberta Adams.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1pm to 6pm at Colonial Funeral Home.

I'm sure you're all aware that today is the 50th anniversary of the LAST human on the moon!
Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt took of from the surface of the moon at 5:54PM EST today in 1972.

And, me being a proud Purdue alum, I'm SURE you're ALL aware that BOTH the FIRST and LAST people to walk on the moon were BOTH Purdue alumni (Armstrong and Cernan).
That's why they call us the "Cradle of Astronauts".

Soon we'll be able to honor one of our LTHS grads as the first WOMAN on the moon!

Now, all of you watch Purdue football in the Cirtrus Bowl and Purdue basketball is ranked #1 IN THE NATION!
Boiler Up!

Hey. Some people have thought I was announcing a female Laneite to land on the moon. Sorry. Hasn't happened yet. I'm just saying it's only a matter of time!
Go Lane Go!

Hello all,

I wanted to wish all you amazing 76'ers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2023. Though we have suffered some losses this year, please be sure to continue to embrace life and love, embrace our friends and family, and even embrace our idiocy (I sure do, and I have learned to just "Roll with it"). Love and appreciate those in our various circles while you can because as we know, tomorrow is not guaranteed. While this Christmas weekend has been hit with some bad weather which has hampered travel for some, causing some to "Hibernate" this weekend (like yours truly), I do appreciate that we have more means (as oppossed to back in our day) to reach out and communicate with loved ones all over while we are "Hibernating".

I think this picture is a good one for "Christmas week 2022":

Hang in there and stay warm!
