Where do you currently live?

Los Angeles

Where else have you lived?

Boston

If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

Sonoma

What clubs, sports, or activities did you belong to when at Lane?

Lived really far from school and didn't participate in extra curriculars which would have made it an even longer day. Took an hour to get home. But worked part time on the weekends in junior and senior years at Wiebolt's (if you can remember that store) in Oak Park, in their fabric department. I was into sewing so it was a fun place for me to work.

What have you been up to since graduation? Or doing for the last forty years?

Graduated from Boston University. Worked in publishing in Boston at Inc Magazine, PC Week and Digital Review. Moved to Los Angeles. Worked at Bon Appetit Magazine and Variety and eventually worked at a health care company as a project manager. Married my husband and had two kids who are now in their early 20s. One graduated from DePaul, the other attends UC Irvine. Have been back to Chicago many times to visit my parents and sister. And still enjoy going back. Chicago is one of my favorite cities. I appreciate it much more now than when I lived there. Seeing the Cubs win the World Series was one of the happiest moments of my life. We were die hard Cub fans growing up. Unfortunately Trump won the election a week later. That's another story, of course.

What do you like to do in your free time? What are your hobbies? Favorite activities?

Right now I'm obsessed with growing heirloom tomatoes. I have 15 plants and started 13 of them from seed. Because I'm taking a Quality Management course right now, I decided to start really keeping track of what's going on, so I take detailed notes on what I harvest and weigh each tomato. I give lots of tomatoes away to friends and have recently experimented with roasting tomatoes and making soap, tomato tart, etc.

What do you plan to do when you retire?

Grow tomatoes. Listen to classical music. Walk amongst the trees.

Live somewhere beautiful at least one month out of the year.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

My mom is a Holocaust survivor. And my dad survived the bombings of London. I never talked about it back then.

Anything else you would like to share?

Unable to attend the reunion, but happy to hear from classmates. Please feel free to message me.

School Story

It's not really funny or a favorite, but I clearly remember Mr Zak. He was a great math teacher but used to lose his temper and use foul language in front of us. He also painted some large geometric murals in the hallways which makes no sense when you think about the classic murals that Lane has that are now rightfully preserved.
