In Memory

Fredric Holland

Fredric Holland, born January 29,1952 in Chicago, Illinois died July 5, 2024 in Beaver, Utah. Fred graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1972 and spent his entire life as a CPA, working in public accounting and at various private companies in Wisconsin, Florida, and Las Vegas where he had many friends and associates with whom he had lifelong relationships which he treasured. He retired in 2018 as the Director of Finance for The Center in Las Vegas but had always kept busy by preparing tax returns for over 20 years.

Fred is survived by 3 children. Son Aaron (and his wife Jill) of Clermont Florida. Owning two Comic Book Stores with wife Jill (an awarding winning Chef). Second child Yancy, sells items online and is living his dream in Winter Garden Florida. Recently married daughter Katie (and husband Scott Nealon of Chicago) who followed in his footsteps in the world of bookkeeping and accounting. Very special to him was his long-time companion Mary Kay Lavin and her family Cortney, CJ and Chad along with 2 grandchildren. It was very difficult for him to express his feelings when they first met, but fortunately Mary Kay figured it out. He had 2 best friends, his dogs, (Hilarie and Mia) who were a big part of his life.

Fred’s brother (Ken of Naperville, IL) passed away suddenly earlier this year and he never emotionally recovered from that loss. Ken was a best friend with wife Terri and two children. Matt (wife Sarah and two children) of Indianapolis and daughter Beth (husband Dan Unagast and 4 great children) of La Grange, IL. Fred was honored to be their uncle.

Fred had heart disease for nearly 30 years and was told that he lived longer that anyone thought he would. It finally caught up to him but had a life with no regrets. He enjoyed travel, casino gambling, live music and sports and was always ready to try a new restaurant or experience. One of his most cherished and proudest memories was attending his daughter’s wedding in Chicago in April 2024 despite his health taking a turn.

He wants to thank all the care providers at Intermountain Health Heart Failure Institute who kept him going for many years. Local care givers with Hospice in Beaver were outstanding and he wishes to thank them for all they did towards the end. No services are anticipated with his ashes planned to end up on Mt Charleston, near Las Vegas, at some point in the future.
