John A. Rushing

October 23, 1951  -  December 10, 2024

John Rushing, a longtime resident of Palatine, Illinois, passed away on December 10, 2024 . Born on October 23, 1951, in Chicago, IL, John is the beloved son of Marylynn "Lynn" Rushing and the late Roy Rushing.

John shared a beautiful life with his wife, Dianna (Wester) Rushing, whom he married on April 17, 1976. Together, they built a loving family that includes their two sons, Christopher (Michelle) and James (Sarah). John was a proud and devoted grandfather to Addison, Dawson, Felix, and Ferris, whom he cherished deeply.

John served his country with honor as a U.S. Marine from 1971 to 1973, earning an honorable discharge after two years of service. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked alongside his father in the automotive business before pursuing his entrepreneurial passion. John established a successful business designing and selling patio furniture tailored for limited spaces, demonstrating his creativity and dedication.

John's love for family and community shone brightly in his life. He welcomed family and neighbors alike to his home, where his swimming pool became a hub of joy. Whether teaching children to swim or hosting gatherings, John delighted in bringing people together.

John’s legacy of kindness, innovation, and love for those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
