The "Original" Lava Lamp, circa 1960s - First marketed as "Astro Lamps" in the 1950s, the US manufacturing rights were sold in 1965 to the Chicagoland-based company, Lave Lite. During the next decade almost every household had one for the "groovy" mood it seemed to project. Today, they still sell in the millions, probably partly because of the popularity of the Austin Powers movies.

Thanking my friends who attended Jamieson Elementary School for the reminder that for some Swedish Covenant Hospital was the closer facility for emergencies.

Green Briar Park on Peterson, where many of us signed up for the Fortnightly Dance lessons to learn how to "slow dance." We basically learned the "box step." Also, years earlier, our cub scout troop met upstairs as well.
