What is the single most overriding memory or impression from your time at Michael Reese?
QOD call in ICU, especially taking care of that guy who stumbled out of a Chicago bar and into a snow drift overnight, hypothermia (microwaving his IV fluids bringing his core temp back up ever so slowly) and 3 weeks in the ICU for frostbite tissue damage, essentially a burn victim. He lost digits but otherwise did well.
-And the poor young woman with SLE whose facial erysipelas we were unable to reverse, watching it grow by the hour as we looked on helplessly.
-And the young boy Bobby with AML who we shepherded through the early state of the art chemo, did great then and I treated him years later for asthma and CIU!
-Morning Report as it should be done
