Bill died at age 43 of esophageal cancer, just one year after he was transferred from California to head the office of Prudential investment brokers in Chicago. It was in 1986.
Bill left behind his wife Fern and a daughter Nicole.
Bill ( then "Billy" and I was "Ricky") and I met in cub scouts in about 1955. Although Bill lived about 2 blocks away, he went to Central for 5th grade and we really did not get close until we all went to Central for junior high. We remained close thru the years, attending each other's weddings and seeing more of each other after he, Fern and Nickie moved back to Chicago. I remember feeling greatly honored when he asked me to assist him with legal matters relating to his parents' estates and then called me about his own estate planning after his cancer diagnosis. He was a loving son, husband and father and for me a wonderful friend. I think of him often.

Bill was a good friend. It was a shock that he passed away so young. We think about him frequently.
