H. Ben Wimmer of Portland died Oct. 2, 2008, following surgery at age 58.
Benton Howard Wimmer Jr. was born June 28, 1950, in Chico, Calif. He moved to Portland in about 1977 and was a recruiter for FlexForce Personnel.
Survivors include his brothers, Jerry and Sam.

I never got around to posting my condolences for Howard so memories will have to do. I spent a lot of time with Howard the few years after high school i stayed in town, and he was always a devoted and loyal friend. Had a great sense of humor and was a friend that was always there when you needed one. My family and I visited Howard a few times in Oregon and he came to my place in Washington. We always had a great time. His passing was a great shock to us, didn't believe it at first. I did visit his grave in Chico last time I was there. Seems i spend more and more time visiting graveyards these days.
