John Barrett

Retired in 2004 from Nationwide Ins. after 36 yrs, then 2 yrs at AEP. Moved to The Villages, Fl. where still playing sports with a lot of other old guys. 4 kids, 5 grandkids doing well in Ohio and we visit back & forth often. Wife Kate & I enjoy serving Christ and also still work part time at jobs we enjoy.

Summer party at Lake Hill before our Sr year, Jack Schott and I think Rod McLeod asked me to drive out there because they weren't allowed to. I didn't think I would be either but unbelievably my Dad said OK. So we took off in Dad's new Pontiac Tempest demo that he brought home. David Bunch, just a Jr to be, also came with us. When we got there some guys didn't like the idea of Bunch being there. So they chased him around, pouring beer all over him even when he jumped into my car. I panicked, got everybody together, and tried to hightail it outta there. But I backed into Damon Baker's junker from the 40's first and then left. We spent the rest of the night trying to air out the car and searching for any damage. 6 months later Dad came home sayiing he had a buyer for that car until they found a dent on a fender. Ashamed to say I never fessed up about it.
