Somedays it feels like we just graduated yesterday...rather than yesteryear. After H.S. I went to Ohio State and fulfilled my childhood dream of dotting the "i" in Script Ohio. I then went to work for my parent's company Petland selling franchises. I tried out the marriage thing for a few years. No children resulted from it, except my dog Mica (who still lives with me).
I left Chillitown in 2000 to move to Vail, Colorado. Salomone already lived there with his wife. I guess our brotherhood bond meant we had more life adventures to experience together. I worked in hospitality sales in Vail before I moved to Santa Barbara, California. There I helped run a world-class golf course with my girlfriend for a couple years. Life was good...playing golf everyday with celebrities and enjoying the surreal weather of Santa Barbara. I also became a bit of a wine snob living minutes from wine country.
But...Californians are a different breed and I missed the people and lifestyle of Colorado. So I moved back to Eagle (just outside Vail) and ran sales and marketing for a world-renowed spa. Still...my desire to do more with my life wasn't fulfilled. This past year I decided to get my teaching license. I'm teaching 5th grade and absolutely love it!! I come home from work feeling like I'm making a difference in the world...rather than just helping rich folks spend their money.
In the summer I'm an Orvis flyfishing guide. I bought a fishing raft and take people on trips down the awesome rivers around here. It is not a bad way to spend your summer (and make a little money in the process).
I've also been remodeling a house here in Eagle for the past few years, hoping to captialize on the valuable real estate in this area. I've become quite proficient with construction, and with mending blisters.
Overall, I've been pretty lucky so far in life. I'm not married, but have lived with a girl for a few years. I often brag about growing up in a small town in Ohio, and relish in the fact that all of us have a special bond that continues to this day. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this summer...catching up...and having some laughs.
