Workity work work. I'm still at KW (closing in on 20 yrs), although I did leave for about a year to work for General Electric. Outside of work, I'm the soccer-coaching, homework-helping, weekend-DJ dad to three teenagers...hence all the gray. As all of you with kids surely know, they are each a challenge and a source of pride in his or her own way.
Suellen and I see a lot of the Leeths and Fleurimas (Ang Hirsch and her dude Joel), and I see some others at work (like Ernie Hall, Andy Maccabee, Richie Shoemaker, Mark Rhoads, and others).
I spent one two-year stint on City Council...and kinda had my fill. It was very interesting to see how all of that works, and it still cracks me up when I contemplate the fact that my name is on two years' worth of LAWS. I did not think that I would ever say such a thing. Anyway, one term was enough, at least for now. It is a very thankless job, especially during times when there is no money in the city's war chest. I don't miss it.
