Joined the United States Marine Corps 3 months after graduation and served 13 years, attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (E7). Been a civilian (again) for a little over six years now, working in healthcare the entire time. Currently serving as the Director of Internal Audit and Chief Audit Executive for a healthcare system in Kansas.
During the last 20 years, I've served/lived in NC (3.5 years - deployed twice to the Far East during this time), CA (11.5 years - L.A., San Diego, Sacramento), MD (2 years), KS (3+ years). Had a great time at all of these place and got to experience more than I ever imagined while going through high school at CHS. I do miss Ohio some but wouldn't trade these experiences for anything.
Been married to my beautiful wife for 16 years and we have two wonderful children (ages 8 and 4). I also have a 209 year old son who is currently serving as a Combat Photographer in the United States Marine Corps.
