Historical Overview of Holmwood and It's Alumni Connection

Not many students support their high schools after graduation but instead support the schools from which they have gained their higher education.  On the other hand, there are several Holmwood alumni that I would like to give special recognition to such as:
  • Mr. William George "Billy" McLaren for his dedicated service done in the House of Parliament and in the Agricultural field. If my memory serves me right, Mr. McLaren was the Member of Parliament for the constituency in which Holmwood is located and also as a member of the Holmwood Board of Governors during my high school years.
  • Mr. Steadley Steadman Webster for his outstanding public service in Education and Training
  • The current principal, Mr. Paul Bailey for the excellent work he has done and is currently doing both in the academic and athletic areas
  • The school’s current Board’s Chairman, Mr. Franklin Williams
  • Member of Parliament for the Manchester constituency, Hon. Audley Shaw
  • Dr. the Honorable Carlton Davis, O.J. as the first appointed Cabinet Secretary of Jamaica
  • Custodies serving simultaneously:
The Honorable Rev. Saunders, St. Thomas (my parish)
The Honorable "Hurry Hurry" Sinclair – Westmoreland
The Honorable Clarence Nelson of St James
Holmwood Alumni is a very vibrant and dedicated organization and we are determined to help make the experience of each student a memorable and life changing experience.  The alumni will continue to contribute to the student's need knowing that education is one of the keys to success.

Thanks
