Kandy Brooks Hilliard

I drifted for a few years after high school, bartending, teaching aerobics, and working on an Arabian horse farm. I finally got a real job and went to work for the CIA.

Once children came along, I decided that I wanted to be at home so went to work as a role player at the FBI Academy part-time. I opened a family child care business and became a trainer and advocate for quality early childhood education. I got involved with the PTA and eventually got into politics.

I served on the Board of Supervisors in Stafford County for 4 years and now do some consulting work along with my work for the non-profit. I have stayed active in local politics and continue to work on different campaigns.

I loved the parties on Coronado beach. Body surfing at Coronado Beach was the best. I lost my class ring at Coronado Beach too. I remember driving Patti Groves' father's car back from the beach with a bunch of people in the car and getting a speeding ticket. Patti said her dad would kill her for letting someone else drive and handed me her license. I gave it to the officer and had to sign her name and remember her name and screwed up when I signed the ticket. I came back to VA for the summer and Patti had to go to court with her dad. What a mess!

I loved Chula Vista H.S., learning to play volleyball, learning to play water polo and swimming. (and the embarrassing picture in the yearbook in my bathing suit)

I moved back to Virginia in the middle of my senior year. Chula Vista High School was a wonderful place where everyone was friendly. It was easy to make friends. All the kids were involved in the school in some way and it was really easy to feel like you belonged. My years at CVHS were the best.
