In Memory

Colin Campbell

It is with great sadness that I had to report that our classmate, Colin Campbell passed away on April 27, 2019. He passed away after a 27 year battle with Parkinson's, Dystonia, and Achalasia. He was living in Richmond Virginia at the time of his death. . He was co-owner of a construction company, BROMAC, with his cousins until the Parkinson's forced him to retire.

Colin did a video about Parkinson’s disease called “Transmit Dopamine” on You Tube.

As many of you remember Colin loved music.  For many years he was a member of VOCAL, Virginia Organization of Composers and Lyricists. His sister, Cecily Palmer told me that, “as much as he wanted to be a rock star his music evolved into Children’s music.”  “Good Little Girls', "Warm cookies and cold milk" and a series of songs about different vegetables. Her favorite was “B Russel Sprouts". I wish I could have heard them.

.Rest in Peace Colin Campbell

This makes me so sad. Colin made the biggest impact on my life Jr. and Sr. year. We dated junior year and spent lots of time listening to the Beatle's White Album and Bob Dylan's Nashville Skylline as well as listening to him play the guitar. He would pass notes to me during Mr.Love's Chemistry and Physics class, often with original poems or lyrics. We both loved Mr. Rindone's history class and even took driver's training together with him as our instructor, so fun. I was so heartbroken when we broke up but so excited to see him at our 10th and 40th reunion. He told me about his Parkinsons at the 40th, llittle did I know then that I would never see him again.
