This site is not that easy to comment or connect. But I say lets do the reunion in spring of 2022
O. M. Gene. ??????????
RIP Geoff:
I'm glad I was able to see Geoff a few times over the last few years. Seemingly, life was not always easy as his years moved on.
He surely left a mark on many, leaving us many crazy, funny memories. There's a lot to say about that!
One truly iconic Lancer.
I'm so sorry to hear this, as well. My vivid memory of Geoff is of a little party at Mary's house, maybe in 8th or 9th grade. Geoff and Gwen were there together, and I thought they were the most beautiful couple imaginable. They reminded me of Romeo and Juliet; Arthur and Guinnevere (only Geoffrey and Gwendolyn). Yes, RIP, Geoff, and say "hey" to other Lancers, gone before us--including Mary. xxoo
Mary passed of lung cancer in 2003. Through a quirk of circumstance, I had the great fortune to see her just months before she passed, after not having been in touch since maybe 1980. She told me, then, that she had just received the report that she had lung cancer. Her sister, Ruth, found my number in her belongings and called me a few months later to let me know that Mary had elected no treatment, and she had passed quickly. She had so many, many struggles, beginning in jr. high, and lasting the rest of her life. She was my best friend, my soul mate, ever since I met her when I switched to Rosebank in the 6th grade, and I think about her all the time. She was funny, and fun-loving, and wicked smart (as the young people say), and beautiful, and I still have notes we passed in class. (Today, we'd be texting each other, ha ha). xxoo
I met Bill in 6th grade, if I remember correctly. And I remember how very, very sweet and kind he was.
