And, yet another classmate (wasn't he one of the first?) who died too young.  One of those singular memories of elementary school for me involved David who sat next to me in 5th grade.  The ONLY time that I ever (truly!!) cheated on a test was when we were completing a geography test (countries/flags).  I was then, and continue to be now, blessed with "zip" visual memory for that kind of information.  I remember sneaking a peak over at David's paper.  And, believe me, to this day, I continue to experience a twinge of shame along with a smile, when I think of that moment.

I remember David more from elementary school and Jr. high than later. He was just a really nice kid and a lot of fun to be around. What a terrible loss...

David and I were great friends in 6th grade. I hated almost everything else but him. We were 'nerds of s feather' and often walked home instead of taking the bus. Our friendship lasted through high school and we even dated. I am sure I liked him better and wanted a deeper relationship but it was not to be. I will always remember going to Julian and playing in the snow.

Much later I tried to look him up online but that was a bust...I now know the reason. I hope you are happy wherever you are and know that you have a special place in my heart.
