Died: June 30, 2014; in Indianapolis, IN

Judy Carol (Elliott) Bickert, 61, was called to her eternal home on Monday, June 30, 2014, at her home in Indianapolis, IN. She had, unfortunately succumbed to complications of diabetes, which she had dealt with for many years.

Judy was born in Luka, MS., on June 19, 1953; the daughter of Chester and Eva June Elliott. They had moved to Cicero, IL, when she was just 6 weeks old, and resided there through her high school years. Judy was a 1971 graduate of J.S. Morton High School, East. 

Judy married her high school sweetheart, Giles Bickert, June 3, 1972, followed him in his nine year naval career, and they then settled down in Round Lake Beach, IL for several years. 

Judy and Giles moved to Indianapolis, IN in 1988. Shortly after moving there, she started her craft business, "Judy's Heartfelt Crafts," selling her hand made home decor items, that were each individually crafted and hand lettered with inspirational sayings. 

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Chester E. Elliott, on December 27, 2001. 

Judy is survived by her husband, Giles Bickert, Indianapolis IN; and her mother and step-father, Eva June and Donald Thompson, Sheffield, AL. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins, mostly in Alabama. 

Visitation and funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Home - Washington Park East, 10612 E Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
