Recently Donna and I took a sad journey to Indianapolis for a farewell memorial for Steve Philhower. Steve was the kind of person that was quiet and didn't change much over the years. After high school, I was drafted and Steve joined the Army. After being seriously wounded in Nam, he recovered and volunteered to return. He received the Bronze Star for bravery but never talked much about it. He had a wonderful family and served in ministry work from Alaska to Mexico.
Two weeks before he passed away of pancreatic cancer, he sat on our porch, we didn't know that was the last time we would see him, wish we would have visited more often.

So long Steve, rest in peace.
