Just would like to say "Thanks" to those who post their high school picture. I looked at the classmate list and say "Oh yeah" I kinded of remember that name and then I click on the photo and say "Oh Yeah" now I remember that person. Really helps bring back some great memories of "Back in the Day!"
Looking forward to putting names, pictures and people together again!

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR FERVENT PRAYER FOR CATHERINE KING HASSAN.

As some of you may know Catherine has had a myriad of health problems.  The most serious of these is congestive heart failure.  As she was about to have a type of dialysis called 'ultra filtration' it was determined that her heart and lungs had gotten too rigid and thick and that the procedure would put too much pressure on them.  Her kidneys can no longer take the diuretics that have been keeping her heart and lungs free of the extra fluid--she has been put on a daily kidney watch.  As if that isn't enough she is experiencing severe pain throughout her left leg.  She had to enter a rehab/nursing home to try to adjust medications.  She was told yesterday that she will be in the home for at least a month, maybe longer.

She has been SO EXCITED to be able to see everyone at the reunion!!  It has been so wonderful to go down 'memory lane' with her each time we talk--luckily, Martha Wilkins and I got to reconnect with Catherine last year after all these years!  She has been a blessing and an example of Christian love and positivity--no matter how badly she felt she was concerned for others and was first to offer prayer on their behalf.

Obviously, due to this latest development Catherine will NOT be able to attend the reunion!!  It is quite a blow to her and I know she would love to hear from all of you!!  As the facility does NOT have internet service she cannot use her laptop to communicate with everyone.

Her address is The Arbors of Milford/5900 Meadowcreek Drive,#208/Milford OH 45150

Her phone number there is 248-7298

Thank you all so much for your prayers.

Thanks for the update Jane.  I am so sorry to hear of the health issues Catherine is going through.  Catherine has been so active in trying to make this reunion a success and it is a shame she will not be able to make it.

I would like to do something to make her stay in the rehab facility a little brighter and first thought of flowers.  Then I thought of trying to hook her up with a wireless modem but, from experience I know something like a laptop seems to grow legs in facilities such as this.  So, anyone have any ideas how we may brighten her spirits while she battles this latest health issue?

I the meantime daily prayers will be offered that she recover quickly and that her quality of life is improved.

Monty, Jim and Nancy--thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!  She will be so happy to know all of you are thinking of her.  I don't understand the process of setting up her laptop, Monty, but I can only imagine it would be tricky at best.   If no one else has their own camcorder I could borrow my mom's--great idea Jim!!  Nancy, I love the idea of getting some of us, whoever is available, to go over to see her as a group that weekend!

I would be happy to go see Cathy. Is her condition life threatening?

Nancy Allen (Wyatt)

Rick, that would mean alot to Cathi if you went with us to see her.  I have talked with her several times and she, like me, was very quiet in school and is surprised that some people don't remember her.   I know she would love to see as many of us as possible.

I would say congestive heart failure is life threatening, along with the other medical problems she has.

Hi Everybody!  Martha and I are checking the message forum on our way to visiting Catherine this afternoon and I know she will be so happy to hear about all your concerns and efforts to share the reunion with her!! We can't wait to see everyone!!

I spoke with Cathi last night.  She told me about all of her visitors and was so happy to see those that were able to stop by.  She said that yesterday was the best she has felt in quite a while.  Praying today will be just as good for her.

Rick.....do you have a tripod to put your camcorder on?  We have one if you do not.

Seven days and counting!!

I just want to thank everyone who came to the reunion and hope everyone had a great time....it sure seemed that way. Seeing everyone again made all the work put into it well worth it.

Again, thank you Bruce for finding us a place to sleep close by, for finding the banquet hall (they did a wonderful job...food was really good).  To Nancy for knowing what needed to be done....and steering me in all the right directions :)  My husband David, who helped put things up and tear things down; to Nancy's husband John for taking all those photos of everyone.

Time goes by faster and faster each year, so our 45th will be here before we know it.  I hope we find even more classmates in the coming years.

A special thanks to Charles Wilson and his wife Nancy for opening up their beautiful home and "saving" a rained out picnic.

This was a terrific weekend!  Thanks to all involved...the planners (and their spouses) and those who attended.  Everything was absolutely perfect.

To those who attended the picnic...after everyone headed over to visit Cathi, I found a black baseball hat with an eagle and "Legion Riders" on the front.  Let me know if it belongs to you and I'll make sure it is returned to you.

Hey everyone.  Sorry it has taken so long to post a message but after two late nights in a row (Thursday and Friday) I had to catch up on lost sleep!!!!

It sure was a terrific weekend and once again thanks to Bruce, JoAnn, Nancy and Cathi for all of the phone calls and exceptionally tough work they did in getting this together.  This was the first reunion I was able to attend and I was thrilled to see all of you and wish we would have had more time to chat with each and everyone of you.  Looking at the photos of those classmates who were able to attend in spirit sure made me realize how much I regret not having stayed in touch with you.  It sure makes you realize how precious life and friend really are.  Sorry to get so sappy!!

Brenda Cox Keller mentioned trying to get together once a month or so at Dennis Clepper's place.  I would love to do that.  My number is in the book or contact me through this website.  Martha (Ann) has my contact info as well.

A huge thanks to Charlie and his wife for opening up their beautiful home to a bunch of wet "old" people.  That cap you mentioned belongs to ED (don't call me Eddie) Beckman.

I hope to see you all again very soon.  God Bless you and thanks for allowing me to relive so many wonderful times.

We are going to keep the web site going!  The first year is paid for, but if you would like to help out, send a donation to Jo Ann Newburn Davis.  You can email her for her address.

Hey Rick, hope you are serious about your 5 acres, we just might take you up on your offer!  That's exactly what we talked about doing, so we could make it an all day event and not have to worry about any time limits.

Monty - I didn't do anything today, either..  I was just so exhausted.

I will post the pictures in a couple of days.  We will be busy tomorrow with doctor & dentist appts.

I just wanted to add my thanks to JoAnn, Bruce, Monty, Nancy and all those that helped to plan a GREAT!!! reunion.  It was truly great to see old friends.  You know you sometimes don't realize how important those friends of your youth were until you reconnect and and those memories flood back.

Again Thanks! and Hope to see you all again at the next reunion.

I had to laugh at Monty's comment the other day. He said it was a good thing that we could upload our photos so it wouldn't be such a shock when we finally got together and saw each other!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PLANNED, EXECUTED AND ATTENDED THE REUNION!!!!  A GREAT SUCCESS!!

Jo Ann, Nancy and Bruce  your efforts and patience with all of us were truly amazing!!  Monty, you were not being sappy!!  Being together felt like a giant family reunion( of all your favorite relatives)!!!  The atmosphere felt so warm and nurturing--the only problem was that we didn't have enough time to talk with everyone--it seemed like we just got started when the announcement was made that the evening would soon come to a close!!   Charlie and Nancy--how special your home made the 'picnic'!!  You were so generous to offer and your warmth and graciousness made us all feel so welcome!!  I think the idea of the frequent get-togethers is right on target--how fun! Rick and Rose thank you so much and of course, the same to Ron!!

Sharon Althaus--thank you so much for giving us another year here on the website!!

Thanks to all who came to visit Catherine King Hassan--she was totally delighted and said it so boosted her spirits!!  What a sweet person she is and how lovely it was to see her happy face that day!!

I would also like to ask for your prayers as my husband seems to have taken a turn for the worse.  We are soon to revisit the cardiologist and are preparing for whatever the Lord has in store for us. Thank you.

Hope to see you all again soon!!

Rick, thank you so much for that offer!  I'm sure we'll be taking you up on that one!  Personally I can't wait till we can do this again, and have the time to really be together w/o time constraints. Wish I lived up there...hope those that do take the opportunity to do the get together once a month.

We took Sunday to take my mom/sister/daughter to Glen Este to see our old home.  The older couple who live there now saw us taking photos, and our conversation led to them inviting us in!  It was such a blessing.  Then we drove out to Batavia.  I plan on making it out to Dennis's place for lunch next time we visit.

I loved seeing each and every one of you as you arrived.....You all looked FABULOUS :))))

Hey Gang...Pam and I wanted to thank  Nancy,  JoAnn,  Bruce , Cathy and all the others that helped make our reunion a memorable evening !!!! We also wanted to send a special "THANK YOU" to John Wyatt (Nancy's husband) for taking the photos of everyone as we entered !

We also are very interested in maintaining the class website so we can all stay in contact... so we wanted to let you know we are sending a check to cover an additional year's expense on the site !

I am VERY PROUD of our class !!! For a bunch of "Duck Farmers" I think as a group We turned out pretty good...many furthered their education...many own businesses, many have contributed positively  by going to work every day, raising their children, playing by the rules and being a contibuting member of society..many have lot's of children and even more grandchildren and  many have had the good fortune to have "retired" already ...I was especially proud of our class "Veterans" and the highlite of the evening to me was when our class Honored their service !!!!

The Class of Glen Este 1970 just really makes me proud to be one!!!

I sure missed those who were unable to attend and trust that with this site and personal contacts we will be able to see them at future gatherings...and I'm sure we all missed those that have passed away.

We are not getting any younger and I'm excited and encouraged by the interest our class now has to maintain contact with each other...

Thank you Mike and Pam for offering up another year for this web site.  Won't it be great if we can keep it going!

Hoping we can continue finding classmates till our 45th arrives.  I'm so happy everyone enjoyed the evening, it makes it all worth the 1,000 + minutes I ate up on my cell phone trying to find y'all.  Yes I've been in the south long enough I can say that....LOL
