Jane passed away peacefully in New York on Thursday June 16, 2022 after a two-battle with cancer. Jane was born in Cincinnati, the daughter of Leonard E. Glick and Ruth Fridman Glick. She attended Bond Hill School and was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati. After graduation, she took an administrative position at Cincinnati General Hospital while pursuing her interests in music and theater at the Cincinnati Playhouse and other local venues. She moved to New York where she continued her theatrical studies at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and studied singing with private instructors. While doing that, she worked as a social work assistant at Columbia -Presbyterian Hospital and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She was a social worker at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital where she was beloved and respected by patients, families, and staff. She worked on a wide variety of clinical services including neurology, child psychiatry, pediatric oncology, transplant, and adult medicine, over a 40-year career. She continued her theatrical and musical pursuits performing her own cabaret shows and in several off-off Broadway plays, and occasionally as an extra in television and film. Jane was a lover of animals, especially dogs of which she had three during her life. She is survived by James Cohn, also a Cincinnati native, her partner of 45 years with whom she traveled the world and enjoyed all that New York had to offer. Jane and James met when they both worked at Cincinnati General Hospital. She is also survived by her sister Joan Glick of Columbus, Ohio as well as her many friends and colleagues. Funeral services were held on June 20, 2022 at Temple Emanu-el on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, Doctors Without Borders, or the charity of one’s choice.
