I really did not know Skip very well at all. From what I can remember, he was a very quiet guy while at WHHS.I guess that I came to know "his memory" after our 40th Reunion when Sandy Youklis raised the issue in our Talk Around about Skip , Mike and Mac being lost in Viet Nam and that there was no memorial for them at WHHS.
His coments ,along with others , paved the way for our efforts that helped create the Remembrance Memorial out in the circle at WHHS. It makes me feel good in my heart that his Mother lived to see that Saturday when we dedicated the Memorial to her son and others from WHHS. Gwyn and I took flowers from the dedication along with Mrs. Ammon and Mrs. Fleming to Spring Grove to lay at Skip, Mac and Mike's graves.
Each time I visit Spring Grove , I stop by certain Friends and Family. I cannot always find Skip's marker and usually have to call the office for assistance. While near Skip's marker, I always say:"You sure are hard to find, especially since I didn't know you well but I mourne the life you didn't have time to live".
