Graduated and spent time in college and after a couple of years moved up to Santa Rosa working at Rodney Strong vineyards.
For reasons unknown I decided to up and join the Navy and went through the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program and served on three fast attack and one ballistic missile submarine. Made a 21-year career with twelve of those years stationed in Hawaii, Submarine Base Pearl Habor. At the midpoint of my service, stationed at Treasure Island San Francisco as an instructor I finished my college degree attending U C Berkeley. I was on the USS Georgia operating out of the Bangor Washington Submarine Base when I retired.
I moved cross country to the Tampa Bay area to begin my second career at PdMA Corporation as a technical instructor for testing industrial motors. After 20 years I retired a second time as the Vice President of Training and Technical Support. The greatest thing about my civilian career was the opportunity to travel worldwide. At the end I had extended assignments in thirty-eight countries and visited almost every state.
Somehow with all this travel, I met my wife Suzanne when the poor woman was bumped from a flight and was stuck sitting next to me flying back to Tampa. We wed in 2000, which makes tracking the number of years we have been married easy to figure out. For the last few years, I have been doing my best to support my wife who works in the State Attorney General’s Office overseeing criminal and capital litigation throughout the state. I also spend my free time spoiling my dogs. Her retirement in not far away and we are building a home in Silver City New Mexico.
