
Lysah M. Flatness 1971-2005
Lysah M. Flatness, 34, of San Francisco, Ca., formerly of Stony Mountain Road, Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, died accidentally in San Francisco on Wednesday, August 17th, 2005.
She was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on June 23, 1971 daughter of Ardyce Johnson Flatness of Dalton, Pa., and Ronald L. Flatness of Tunkhannock. She attended Tunkhannock, Pa. schools through the 11th grade and served as class officer every year. She was near the top of her class academically, received many varsity letters for athletics, was active in drama plays, a member of the National Honor Society and the Homecoming court. Lysah was a 1989 graduate of the Abington Heights High School in Pennsylvania.
She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology in 1995 from the University of Virginia and and was pursuing her Master’s degree in Architecture & Environmental Planning at the University of Colorado-Denver. She had worked in Virginia, Colorado and California over the years. She was currently employed by Heller – Manus Architectural Firm in San Francisco, Ca.
Lysah enjoyed adventure and traveling to over 35 countries. She was invoved in many charitable organizations and her warm smile and sunny personality won her friends everywhere. Even though her life was cut short, those who knew her will never forget her. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Lysah was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Arthur and Felicia Johnson of Morris, Illinois. Surviving in addition to her parents is a brother Ryan Flatness, of Pittston, Pa., sister Kara Flatness, of Harford, Pa., paternal grandparents, Gordon and Mildred Flatness of Morris, Ill.

The 2007 winner of Lysah's scholarship, was Tunkhannock , Pa. High School 2007 Class President ,Christine Lieber. In 2008, Aimee Wilder the top athlete and No. 6 in her class, at Tunkannock High, was the recipient. Congratulaions to Christine and Aimee and thanks to the funds sponsors and contributors.
