Gail Berry (Torretti)

Julie Becker was a life-long friend of mine. She left St. Louis after 8th grade, moving to Iowa, briefly. She went through High School in California. After High School she moved back to Evansville, IN, to live with her beloved grandmother, Marie Becker (Rie).
Julie is a graduate of The University of Evansville with a Bachelors Degree of Liberal Studies. As a abuse counselor, her career included Chrysalis, Stepping Stone, Amethyst, and United Caring Shelters.
Julie has been a friend of Bill W. since November 10, 1991. Her dedication and service as a mentor was evident in the support and encouragement she offered to the many people who came into her life and loved her. Her indomitable spirit and strength was readily apparent to those who knew her.
As a joyful "free spirit," Julie's passions included, riding her Harley Davidson, music, and all aspects of nature. She was a talented artist and was also lovingly devoted to the animals in her care.
Julie is survived by her mother Patricia Fitzgerald Fowler of San Diego, CA, her father, John Becker of Newburgh, IN; her aunts Maureen Fitzgerald of Asheville, NC; and Kathleen Fitzgerald of Alexandria, VA. Julie was preceeded in death by her beloved Grandmother, Marie Thieman Fitzgerald, and Grandfather, William T. Fitzgerald of Evansville.
