Mike & Elizabeth Coachman, Gerald & Cheryl Thurston June 2011

Mike's Lazy Daze motor home 'Monty'. An homage to Montclair, CA where it was made

Both the Coachmans and Thurstons were starting their summer RV vacations and arranged to meet at Amicalola Falls State Park, Dahlonega, GA. We had a great time touring the Falls and Dahlonega and re-connecting.

The Coachmans were in Dahlonega, GA for Elizabeth's research on the life of Dr. Mary Jane Safford, MD (1831-1891) for a book she was writing. In the later years of Mary's life she lived in Tarpon Springs with her brother, Anson and family. Mary and Anson, were involved in starting Tarpon Springs as a tourist (snow bird) destination in the early 1880’s. Tarpon Springs' Safford House Museum focus on Tarpon Springs' history.
