Finally caught up, just put bunches of new pictures on the 40th reunion photos page and a new video that was sent in. Check them out!

Shelley Hornik (Lloyd)

Great pictures and thank you again Val. I hate to be "thick" but where is the "new video" you just posted...what is the title? I looked in the "video corner" but didn't see anything related to the reunion. Was this related to something else?

11/08/09 01:00 PM #3067

Val Iberall (O'Connor)

Shelley, the new video was submitted by Karen Casady and it is on the 40th reunion page right before all the pictures start I put a bunch of links to either videos or picture sites, it is the 2nd line of videos.

To everyone a new feature called live chat is up and running. I'm not sure how it works. I have a call in to the website people and will let everyone know when I find out..
Val the pictures are great. Keep them coming.

When you see a few people's names on the home page at the same time tell them to go to live chat. At the bottom of live chat start typing in a message and press submit. And they will answer you. It's just like any chatline.

Wanted to wish Mitch Fadem much luck overseas. Will be praying for his safe return. You became a pretty amazing and special person like so many people in our class. What a GROUP!

Charles, (Chuck) Balcher

Today, I will list my all time favoite and most hated teachers at Heights. Well, let me think. I'm still thinking. Sorry, my mind is a blank.

Shelley Hornik (Lloyd)

OK Chuck...my memory is pretty good. I loved Clare MacElfresh, the choir director. He was fabulous and I learned a ton about singing and music from him. I couldn't stand Miss Hunting (math) and Madame Koval (French...anyone else remember her singing at the piano...OMG I almost got suspended from LAUGHING).

My homeroom teacher, Mr. Heinz hated us. He told our HR that he never really liked us and he was glad we were graduating. The feeling was mutual.

Shelley, I had Mr. Heinz too. You were in my homeroom in Jr. High too! I guess we had homeroom together for 6 years!

11/11/09 07:38 PM #3075

Shelley Hornik (Lloyd)

Fortunately I never had Mr. Heinz for a class!!

Claire, do you remember him telling our homeroom he really didn't like us? It was right before graduation. Most other homeroom teachers were giving their classes some kind of treat or small gift. Ours was giving us the boot. Kim Wilmot (she sat next to me in homeroom for three years) couldn't believe he was so unkind to us.

Shelley, I don't remember that but I believe it, as he was a real hard ass! His wife seemed so sweet! Your ears will be burning this weekend....Charles' birthday party!!

11/12/09 04:02 AM #3077

Beth Nehamkin

OMG!! I also remember Mr. Heinz and really didn't like the class either...was it a requirement? I can't remember.

None the less, I really didn't want to be in the class and dreaded giving a speech because he was so critical. Sandy, you giving the same speech over and over is hilarious. As for me, I waited so long on one speech that I told him at the end I already gave mine. He tried to stare me down and then went on to the next victim!! Not up there with our favs for sure.

Shall we talk about Dazey Mae Horn and Evelyn Schafule now? Talk about two wackos!! They used to stand in the girls locker room WATCHING the girls take showers!! CREEEEEPPPPPYYY

Joyce Shrallow (Presser)

Which one was the roosevelt gym teacher? That creep INJURED me by forcing me to do a reverse somersault on the rings! Hurt like hell for the longest time.

Wow...we could have filed a class action lawsuit!!!

Miss Shauffle...or however that is spelled...was a NASTY old lady. She became even nastier when Mrs. Royer (was that her name?)...the new young PE teacher was hired. Remember her? She was REALLY nice. Little Miss S knew that the students preferred Mrs. Royer. I remember feeling sorry for Mrs. Royer because she had to share an office with the old battle ax.

I remember Mrs. Royer Too . Why can't I remember where I put my reading glasses ?
