The last 40 years have been quite a journey for me. I decided to prolong my start at OSU to the winter quarter of 1970 since my dear father passed suddenly exactly one month after we graduated from high school. I enjoyed my first "nonproductive" quarter of OSU by mostly partying and having a good time. Its amazing I made it any further than that. But I did. It was hard going to classes that Spring when you had National Guardsman standing in front of the building that you were supposed to attend a class in. I managed. But after several years of struggling and many personal trials and tribulations, I decided it was time to come home.
After taking the summer off in 1972, my mother signed me up for Sawyer Business College. I completed a 9 month secretarial program and from there I got a job at Bethlehem Steel. I thought I had it made there, but 9 years later I got laid off. So after a couple of crumby jobs, I was hired at University Hospitals and have worked here for 24 years now. I have worked in Radiology and have worked in Nuclear Medicine and the Mammography Department. I am hoping I can remain here until retirement age.
I have gotten many comments when I wrote that I had never been married and still looking for Mr. Right. I guess I may have met him once or twice, but I didn't realize at the time. So I just enjoy my friends, family and cats. I go on vacations when I can or just stay at home and watch a good movie. Never was the type to set the world on fire!!!!
I was in the DECA/work study program in 12th grade. At the end of the year there was an annual convention for students in the DECA program down in Columbus, Ohio. Me and my fellow classmates stayed in a hotel close to the OSU campus, but the convention was held downtown. Me and the late Keren Bloomfield and someone else who I can't remember decided we were bored at the convention and wanted to walk back to the campus. We were walking and walking in not so very nice areas I might add. You can imagine the horrer in Mr. Guarino's face when, while driving down High Street he spotted us. Needless to say, we were grounded for the rest of the weekend. And I didn't even want to do the walk in the first place!!!!!
